Planting the seed for ways to enjoy your garden this summer

<!–StartFragment–>

There are so many ways to enjoy being ‘al fresco’, we thought we would plant a few seeds to help you enjoy your garden to the max.

With the unpredictable weather, we know it’s hit and miss when it comes to planning summer fun a lot of the time – but it’s good to have some back up plans when glorious weather does decide to grace us!  Here are our favourite ways to have the perfect summer fun with family and friends – literally on your doorstep!

Barbecue – What is more irresistible than the whiff of a barbecue?  You don’t have to splash out too much – buy some basic sausages, chicken legs and marinade the night before, throw together a couple of salads and get guests to bring a dish along too. The perfect way to bring together a feast and friends!

Night light – If your barbecue lingers into the night, a fantastic way to create some fairytale magic is with your very own ‘night light’. Adorn pathways and trees with chinese lanterns, weave outdoor fairy lights across fencing or to truly create a memorable atmosphere set the night alight with some fireworks.  1st Galaxy provide a great mix of packages to buy fireworks online http://www.galaxy-fireworks.co.uk/shop.asp, for all budgets and garden sizes – as a suggestion the 64 shot display cake is great for impact and sky coverage – or go for some flying lanterns, a stunning way to add a real glow.

Summer Garden Party -Why not go back in time and create a bit of community spirit by hosting a traditional summer garden party? Open up your house to your neighbourhood, have a bake sale, tea and coffee and homemade lemonade – put some bunting up and you’ll have recreated a picturesque ‘back-to-the-80s’ Darling Buds of May style party.

Games Day – Perfect for kids (big and little!); bring a little competition to your outdoor fun and organise a games day.  Why not set up limbo, or buy a giant-sized outdoor version of draughts or connect four? Alternatively – for a slightly larger garden set up croquet and have an afternoon tournament.

Pool Party – Definitely one for hotter weather (and perhaps a slightly larger garden)  – but why not hire a large paddling pool to bring that real holiday feel without needing to leave home?  You could keep it quiet and just enjoy it with the family or, if you’re feeling generous have a kids party – you could even maybe stretch to a water slide – it’s got to be worth it just to see the looks of glee on their faces.

These are just a few ideas for making the most of the summer weather without needing to travel anywhere or break the bank.  It’s a fantastic excuse for celebrating with family and friends – after all, who needs a reason for a get-together?

Alright, your team is generally solid, and I would give it a 7 out of 10. However, I feel that you still have to work on it, and I have included a few (long) suggestions.

Firstly, Ninjask is a nifty little bugger. However, Protect is not needed as you already have the protection of Substitute. And since you have Substitute, what is the sue of Focus Sash? Instead, try Leftovers on Ninjask. Also, try to replace Protect with X Scissor, so that Ninjask has at least 1 attacking moves and won’t be walled completely by a pokemon with Taunt (which are fairly common, a great example being Tauntados).

Secondly, Shuckle’s nature is far from perfect, taking away its special defense for its useless special attack. Also, when you battle with most people competitively, they have Evasion Clause on, which bans Double Team. You should replace Double Team with a move like Encore, which prevents Shuckle from being set-up on by other pokemon.

Next, Umbreon. It is a mean trapper, but you might want to think of incorporating a team support move like Wish. But that is up to your personal preference, and Umbreon is fine as it is. However, it is completely walled by Steels.

Then Breloom. Your Breloom has everything right, except for one vital thing. Spore. It is a sleep inducing move with 100% accuracy, and Breloom is only half as good without it. Take Stun Spore away for Spore. However, Breloom only learns Spore at Level 45 when it is a Shroomish. If you have missed it and don’t feel like rebreeding, don’t fret. Instead, take away Stun Spore for Leech Seed, to make Breloom a very good Sub Seeder with plently of offensive power.

Starmie is a good option as a Rapid Spinner with a little offensive power. It is however, imperative that Starmie has Recover as it is defensively quite frail. As such, you should decide on whether you want to keep ice beam or thunderbolt. Keep ice beam if you fear the dragons, or thunderbolt for Gyarados.

Finally Salamence. Normally, I recommend a Choice Band for a physical Salamence, but I get your idea with the Ninjask passing to Salamence. Life orb could also be used, depending on whether you mind the recoil. However, I strongly recommend that you remove Fly from the moveset. All the opponent has to do to avoid taking much damage from Fly is to switch in a Rock or a Steel type like Skarmory for example. Skarmory can then phaze you out with Roar, as Fire Fang will normally not kill it. Other Steel and Rock types like Bronzong and Rhyperior can then take you out with their other moves (Gyro Ball, Stone Edge etc). I recommend Crunch instead, as it will allow you to do substantial damage to Cresselia, but that is merely a filler, as sadly to say Salamence doesn’t have that many good physical options. Brick Break is viable too.

Once again, your team is solid but I still feel that you have to work on individual pokemon to make your team the best it can be. I hope I helped.
