I am a Preschool Teacher and we have a Fisher Price Hoop as one of the outdoor toys. The ball it came with always catches the wind and makes it impossible to really aim and shoot well. These Spalding Basketball’s are not only the correct size for little hands, but they are EXACTLY like the adult ones. They can dribble, aim and shoot without the wind making any difference. It looks, bounces and feels like the real thing. I haven’t taken it outdoors and probably won’t because it looks too good to have ruined. We bought our toddler a Skilz basketball hoop and he’ll use the ball on that once he’s older.

Great little basketball!!
Recently, the inflatable “basketball” that came with my son’s “Grow-to-Pro Basketball” goal decided it would no longer hold air. This goal, which is similar to the “Just Like the Pros Basketball Set” is perfect for a 5-year old who wants to “shoot hoops” but can not quite use a real goal yet.
In looking for a replacement mini-ball, so many were “cheapo” rubber that didn’t look like they’d last. Plus, he wanted a ball that was just like dad’s official NBA ball. Well, after finding this I looked no further! The price was great, and with Amazon’s free super-saver shipping, even better! When I got the ball, it did need some airing up, but once that was done it felt just like my ball and handled great! My son was as happy as any kid could be at the moment. This ball is very durable – made just like the official ball. It is suitable for both indoor and outdoor use, and should stand up to years of use and abuse.
So for anyone looking for a mini ball, I’d recommend this one. And for parents looking to replace a ball for one of these kid-specific goals, this ball will NOT kill the goal. It’s perfect!

Best mini ball I’ve found
I purchased this ball for my 21 month-old who is mad about basketball. It’s the best quality I’ve found–a little larger and considerably heavier than the previous mini basketball balls we’ve purchased. I highly reccomend it but caution that it is quite heavy and would hurt if a toddler got hit or bonked in the head with it. You also need a bit of strength to heave it.

Toad in the kiddie pool?
We have this inflatable kiddie pool and last time it rained it filled up with water,not all the way to the top,but a few inches.
A toad has decided to live there and I’m worried about wether or not he can get out (I named him Mr Sparkles).
I’m afraid of toads,so touching him is not an option,although I will do anything if he is danger.
The pool is about 30cm high,do you think he will be able to jump out or is he trapped? I dont want him starving to death or something,should I get him out or leave him alone?
if he got in there, he should be able to get back out, but you could try to put something in there that could help him jump out, like maybe a smooth rock or a box that won’t pop the pool? good luck!
